Opinions:
Acting:
Although the main cast consists mainly of up and coming talent they all manage to maintain the same level of those who have acted for decades such as Thomson. Amybeth McNulty is a star yet to be discovered, she manages to give all new depths to the charcter of Anne Shirley that no other actress has done before and leaves the role impossible to give to anyone else.
Plot:
The story has been told for generations but this fresh new take manages to keep the classic scenes many fans love including the chalkboard moment we all know and love, without seeming a scene by scene remake of those that have come before it. They have made the story approachable and oddly relateable especially for any coming of age teenager.
Filming/Editing:
They have let us see the world of Avonlea through Annes eye and even manages to keep changing its view as the charcter ages. They have mnanaged to capture an elaborate and decrative world so much so that you just want to jump into it.
